Michelle Postles, MS, OTR/L
Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Michelle has been a practicing pediatric occupational therapist since 2000, working with families of children with special needs. During her 7 years in private practice, she has provided occupational therapy services in both private and community-based settings through Fulton County's Early Intervention Program, Babies Can't Wait.

Michelle's areas of clinical expertise include treatment of: Neuromuscular Disorders, Prematurity, Learning Disabilities, and Sensory Integrative Dysfunction. Her specialties include: Handwriting, Feeding, Fine Motor Coordination/Hand Skills development, Baby Treatment and Sensory Integration.

Michelle received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Shorter College, Rome, GA in 1996 and her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University, Gainesville, Georgia in 2000.

Adesi Canaglia Brown
Musikgarten Teacher

Adesi, originally from Italy, moved to Atlanta in 1993. She has a BS in Elementary School Teaching and AAS in Interpreting for the Deaf.  Adesi has been working with children, both typical and with special needs, for 15 years.  Adesi is certified to teach the MUSIKGARTEN program (Newborn-5 years) and Family Music Curricula.  Her most valuable tool in teaching is American Sign Language.  In addition, Adesi's love for art has led her to create innovative ideas which can be seen in her interactive children murals.

Erica DeBlasio

Dancing from a young age, Erica was classically trained in ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance. Her true passion lies in teaching and performing classic Swing dance and vintage Jazz movement. Her love for the rich history of swing led her to expand her knowledge, traveling throughout the US and Europe to study under world renowned instructors.

As owner and director of High Altitude Swing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Erica worked with several public and private schools to develop swing dance programs for middle and high school students. In 2000, she acted as lead teacher and choreographer, offering regular classes, forming youth dance troupes and organizing social and community youth dance events.

Since relocating to Atlanta in 2004, Erica has taught weekly swing classes, performs regularly with a local performance troupe and is an active member of the Atlanta Swing Era Dance Association.

Liz Johnson
Flute Instructor

Liz has grown up expressing herself through music. Whether it be through voice, piano, flute or piccolo, she has always found an instrument with which to express herself and study. From the age of 6, Liz began studying piano and continued through high school, completing Michigan and Minnesota Music teachers awards and standards, being state-recognized for her talent and studying with Bethel College (MN) professor, Caroline Nordquist. She began her vocal training at a young age, performing in ensembles and solo under Moses Hogan and her madrigal choir at Carnegie Hall (2001). Liz began to pursue flute studies at the age of 13 and continued through high school as principle chair and piccoloist and in college as second flute and principle piccolo in the Hope College Symphonic Winds and Symphonette. She has traveled around the United States and Europe playing with ensembles. Throughout her college experience, Liz taught middle and high school students as they progressed through their local band and orchestra ensembles.

Since graduation in 2005, Liz has taken courses in the graduate study of music education and has continued to teach private flute lessons through her hometown music academy and privately. Since her move to Atlanta, Georgia, Liz is looking into graduate programs to continue her study in music education. She eagerly looks forward to beginning a new studio in her new home of Atlanta, GA.

Jenny Shannin,M.S., CCC/SLP

Play To Learn Instructor

Jenny is a licensed speech-language pathologist who has her masters degree in the field. She has over 10 years of experience promoting positive and successful interactions between young children and their caregivers. She has worked for a local leading children's hospital for over 6 years in a leadership role. Jenny recently started Play to Learn to help caregivers and children get the most from the toddler years by focusing on child play development, basic sign language for toddlers, and the social interaction of children. Jenny is passionate that a child's playtime activity is key for learning!

Lauren Zimet, M.S., CCC/SLP

Baby Sign Instructor

Lauren works with children of all ages and consults with families on speech, language and early communication issues. She also consults with new and soon-to-be-new parents on the many issues of raising a newborn.

After receiving her Masters in Speech Language Pathology in 1995, Lauren worked in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, and preschool and early intervention programs in New York and New Jersey. In 2001 Lauren relocated to the Atlanta area and established a private practice, Early Insights, LLC.

Desiring to work with children from a more integrative approach, Lauren sought her degree in Neurodevelopmental Training (NDT), June 1998. The NDT framework, encourages the therapist to work with the whole person - looking beyond the surface challenges to the neurological basis.

Lauren received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, and her Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1995. She participates in numerous continuing education programs.
